Bot management
We set up bot management: we distinguish good bots (search engines) from harmful ones (scrapers, carders, spam, fake activity, brute force) and apply measures — challenge, limit, block — at the CDN/WAF level. So harmful automated traffic does not harm the site and data. Honestly upfront: bot management substantially reduces harmful automation, but does not catch 100% — advanced bots disguise as humans, and there is a 'cut off bots vs do not hinder people' balance.
Bot management — overview

Bot management is a project: we connect bot management (at the CDN/WAF, e.g. Cloudflare Bot Management, or rules/signatures/behavioral analysis), classify traffic (good bots/bad bots/humans), set up reactions (let search engines through, challenge/JS check/captcha for the suspicious, block the clearly harmful), protect sensitive points (login, checkout, API, content). Honestly about the limits, this is key: bot management substantially reduces harmful automation (scrapers, spam, fake activity, carding, brute force), but does NOT catch 100% — it is an 'arms race': advanced bots mimic real browsers and human behavior, bypassing simple checks; full protection against bots does not exist, we raise the cost of attack for the attacker. Honestly about balance/false positives: too aggressive rules block legitimate users and needed bots (search engines!), harming SEO and UX; too lax let the harmful through — we tune and test the balance. Honestly about cost: advanced bot management (behavioral, ML) is a paid provider service, separate; basic rules can be on the WAF. Honestly about access: access to the CDN/WAF/server is needed. Honestly about maintenance: bots evolve — rules need upkeep. An important boundary: this is bot management, not rate-limiting (739 — adjacent), not captcha by itself (745 — one of the tools) and not anti-scraping as a separate narrow task (744). If you have few harmful bots, rate-limiting/captcha are enough. Picture this: instead of 'scrapers and fakers roam the site freely' — filtering of harmful automation while letting search engines and people through. The base price starts from 15,000 ₽ per project; it depends on the tool and complexity (the service — separate).
Problems we solve
- Scrapers steal content/prices, bots fake activity and spam.
- Harmful bots hit login, checkout, API.
- There is no distinction of useful and harmful bots.
- You accidentally block search bots together with harmful ones.

FAQ
Will you block all harmful bots?
We will substantially reduce them but not 100%. It is an arms race: advanced bots mimic real browsers and human behavior, bypassing simple checks. Full protection against bots does not exist — we raise the cost of attack and cut off the mass.
Won't search bots be harmed?
That is a key risk: too aggressive rules can block search engines (harming SEO) and legitimate users. We tune the balance, let needed bots through and test so as not to cut off people and indexing.
Is advanced bot management included in the price?
Behavioral/ML bot management is a paid provider service (e.g. Cloudflare), separate. Basic rules can be set on the WAF within the work. We advise what is needed for your threat level.
