We prepare the site for the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), in force since 2025: we bring it to the standard it relies on (EN 301 549 / WCAG) and help with documentation. This reduces regulatory risk in the EU market. EAA (European Accessibility Act) — overview
EAA conformance is bringing the site to the technical accessibility requirements the European Accessibility Act demands (applicable from 28 June 2025 for many digital products and services in the EU: e-commerce, banking, ticketing, etc.). The EAA relies on the European standard EN 301 549, which in turn references WCAG (usually AA). We conduct/use an audit (803), remove barriers (805-826), prepare documentation (an accessibility statement 831). Honestly about the main thing, this is critical: WCAG/EN 301 549 conformance substantially REDUCES regulatory risk in the EU, but is NOT a legal guarantee of EAA compliance. The reasons honestly: (1) the EAA is an EU directive implemented into the NATIONAL laws of each country in its own way (deadlines, supervision, fines, exemptions differ); (2) there are applicability nuances — e.g. possible relief for microenterprises and the concept of 'disproportionate burden', which are assessed legally; (3) the final assessment of whether and to what extent you fall under the EAA is given by a lawyer for the needed country. We build a strong technical base and documentation, but the legal side is confirmed by a lawyer. Honestly about overlays: 'accessibility widgets' do not ensure EAA conformance — real fixes are needed. Honestly about the process: accessibility must be maintained (new content = new barriers). Honestly about scope: it depends on the site size and state (an audit as a basis). Honestly about access: access to the site is needed. An important boundary: this is the EAA (EU); ADA/508 (US) is 827, AODA (Canada) is 829; legal assessment is a lawyer's. No. We build a technical base (EN 301 549/WCAG) and documentation, which substantially reduces risk, but this is not a legal guarantee of EAA compliance.
