Edge functions

Edge functions is an engineering project: we design and deploy functions on an edge platform for fitting tasks — geo/device personalization, A/B distribution without flicker, smart redirects, header/response modification, light API endpoints, authorization/token checks closer to the user. Honestly about the niche, this is key: edge functions are an ADVANCED tool for specific tasks where minimal latency and proximity to the user matter; for most tasks a regular backend/server is enough, and we will not push edge. Honestly about the platform and cost: an edge platform is needed (Cloudflare Workers/Vercel/Netlify Edge, etc.); these are ongoing costs to the provider (by request count/time), SEPARATE from our work. Honestly about runtime limits: edge environments are limited — limits on execution time, memory, available APIs (not full Node), state/DB work (often edge-compatible stores are needed); heavy logic cannot be moved to the edge — we honestly assess what fits there. Honestly about the effect: for fitting tasks it gives real low latency and origin offload, but we do NOT guarantee sales growth by itself. Honestly about complexity/risk: distributed execution complicates debugging and consistency; we do it carefully, with tests. Honestly about access: access to the edge platform/infrastructure is needed. An important boundary: these are edge functions, not edge caching (714 — cache on the CDN), not serverless on a regular backend and not full API development. If there is no task for the edge, we honestly say it is not needed. Picture this: instead of 'every redirect/personalization goes to the origin' light logic runs at the user, instantly — where justified. The base price starts from 25,000 ₽ per project; it depends on tasks and the platform (edge infrastructure — separate).

• Do I really need edge functions?

  Often no. It is an advanced tool for tasks where minimal latency and proximity to the user matter. Most are fine with a regular backend. We honestly assess and will not push edge if it is overkill for your tasks.

• Is edge infrastructure included in the price?

  No. An edge platform is needed (Cloudflare Workers/Vercel/Netlify Edge) — costs to the provider by request count/time, separate from our work. We develop and implement the functions.

• Can any logic be moved to the edge?

  No. Edge environments are limited in time, memory, available APIs and state/DB work — heavy logic cannot be moved there. We honestly assess what fits on the edge and what must stay on the backend.
