Heatmap analysis of key pages
Using heatmaps and session recordings, we look at how people behave on your key pages: where they click (and where in vain), how far they scroll, what they skip, where they get confused and leave. We turn behavior into a prioritized list of hypotheses on what to test and improve. Honestly upfront: this requires an installed heatmap tool and accumulated traffic; a heatmap shows WHAT happens but does not explain WHY — the conclusions are hypotheses, and the analysis by itself does not guarantee a conversion rise.
Heatmap analysis of key pages — overview

Heatmap analysis of key pages is a one-time review of visitor behavior on several important pages (e.g. the homepage, a category, a product card, a landing page) based on heatmap and session-recording data: click maps (where people tap, including on non-clickable elements), scroll maps (how far they read, whether an important block and the button are visible), attention and movement maps, plus watching session recordings of typical scenarios. The goal is to see real behavior and collect prioritized hypotheses on what gets in the way and what to test. Honestly about the conditions: this requires an installed heatmap tool (e.g. Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Plerdy or Yandex.Metrica session replay) and traffic accumulated over a period — if there is no tool or too little data, it must first be connected and given time to collect, which is not instant. An important limitation of the method: a heatmap shows WHAT people do but does not explain WHY; so our conclusions are reasoned hypotheses, not proven causes. On low-traffic pages the maps are statistically unreliable (a few visits do not show a pattern) — the analysis there is of little use; as a rule of thumb, meaningful maps need at least a few hundred visits per page over the period. It is a snapshot for the chosen period: behavior and pages change. The data comes from a third-party tool and depends on its sampling, correct installation and limitations (for example, dynamic elements and pop-ups are not always reflected accurately on the maps). Honestly about the result: this is diagnosis, not design or development; and it is not a guarantee of a conversion rise — the recommendations are verified by A/B tests. You get a report with prioritized findings and hypotheses; implementation, design and development are done separately or by your team. An important boundary: this is an analysis of behavior from map data on selected pages, not a full UX audit of the whole site and not setting up analytics from scratch — those are adjacent but separate services. If there is almost no traffic to the pages, there is statistically nothing to analyze and you most likely do not need the service yet. Picture this: instead of "the landing page does not convert" you see from the maps that 70% do not reach the form, half click on an image thinking it is a button, and the real button is below the fold — and you get hypotheses on what to test first. The base price starts from 14,000 ₽ (it includes a manual review of maps and session recordings on the agreed pages with a report and hypotheses; connecting the tool, if you do not have one, is separate); it depends on the number of pages and the volume of recordings.
Problems we solve
- A page does not convert, and the analytics numbers do not explain why.
- You do not know whether people reach the main block and the button.
- You suspect they click in the wrong place or get confused by the layout.
- You have heatmaps but it is unclear what conclusions to draw from them.
What's included in the Heatmap analysis of key pages service
- Click maps: where people tap, including non-clickable elements
- Scroll maps: how far they read, whether the key block is visible
- Attention and movement maps across key zones
- Watching session recordings of typical scenarios
- Matching behavior against the page goal
- Flagging pages where traffic is too low for reliable conclusions
- A prioritized list of findings and hypotheses for A/B tests
- A review of the results with you
What you get
- You see real behavior on key pages, not guesses
- Priorities: which hypotheses to test first
- Understanding whether people reach the main block, button, form
- Understanding where there is enough data and where traffic is too low for conclusions
How the work goes: steps
- We clarify the key pages and goals, check the heatmap tool and the volume of data (if needed we help connect it and wait for collection)
- We analyze click/scroll/attention maps and session recordings
- We prepare a report with priorities and hypotheses and review it with you
Why PDV Expert
- Fixed price and timeline — no surprises on the invoice.
- Report and recommendations in plain language — clear without a technical background.
- In touch at every step and answering questions about the result.
FAQ
Will conversion grow after the analysis?
The analysis itself does not raise it. Heatmaps show what people do but do not prove why; we give prioritized hypotheses, but what will work is verified by A/B tests. Growth is possible only after implementation and is not guaranteed.
What if I do not have a heatmap tool or have little traffic?
Then a tool must first be connected (Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Plerdy, Yandex.Metrica session replay) and data accumulated — that is not instant, and the connection itself, if you have no tool, is a separate task that is priced separately. On low-traffic pages the maps are statistically unreliable and the analysis there is of little use; we will honestly say so in advance.
How is this different from a UX audit?
A UX audit is an expert assessment of the interface. Here the basis is data on real behavior (maps and recordings) on selected pages. They complement each other, but they are different services.
