Unlike a simple YouTube embed, with your own player you control the skin: you remove the “watch next” block with other people’s videos, the platform’s branding, set the controls, subtitles and accessibility you need. An important point of honesty about ads and the source: if the video is taken from YouTube, some of its rules remain — ad inserts and API limits cannot be fully removed, your player only provides its own skin. Fully without ads — only with self-hosting or on Vimeo (there are no ads there). The source is per the task: play from YouTube/Vimeo in your own skin (cheap, no hosting) or host the video yourself with an adaptive stream (HLS) — this gives full control and privacy but requires a CDN and costs more for traffic and storage. We will honestly say what is more cost-effective: for most, an embed in a branded player is cheaper and enough; self-hosting is needed when full privacy and the absence of a platform matter. And also honestly: the rights to the video and the licenses for public screening and distribution (including the music in the clips) are on your side; we make the player and do not assess the legal cleanliness of the content. Picture this: on a course page the video is in your player — with subtitles and speed, in your design, it loads fast and adjusts the quality to the viewer’s internet by itself. The base price starts from 25,000 ₽ for an embed; self-hosting with HLS and a CDN is estimated individually.

• Why a custom player if you can just embed YouTube?

  The rights to the video and the licenses for public screening and distribution (including music, clips, screening rights) are on your side; we do not assess the legal cleanliness of the content, that is your area. We can advise on the technical side (download protection, domain locks), but the legal rights are on you.
