Infrastructure audit (hosting, backups, DR)
We check how reliably your site's infrastructure is set up: hosting and resources, backups and whether they actually restore, disaster-recovery readiness (DR), SSL and certificates, basic protection, monitoring and scalability — and build a prioritized plan. Honestly — an audit finds risks and weak spots, but it does not guarantee uptime by itself and does not insure against outages: resilience comes from implementing the fixes and regular checks.
Infrastructure audit (hosting, backups, DR) — overview

An infrastructure audit is a one-time check of how reliably and resiliently your site is hosted: the type and resources of the hosting (enough for the load), the presence and correctness of backups and — most importantly — whether they actually restore (a backup that does not deploy is not a backup), failure readiness and a disaster-recovery (DR) plan: what happens if the server goes down or data is lost; the validity of SSL certificates and settings, basic protection measures (access, updates, firewall, privilege separation), availability monitoring and logs, and headroom for scaling. The goal is to find downtime and data-loss risks and to give a prioritized plan. Honestly about the main point: this is diagnosis, not setup and not a guarantee of uninterrupted operation. The audit shows weak spots, but it does not raise uptime by itself and does not insure against a hack or outage — resilience is achieved by implementing the recommendations and regular checks (including a test restore from a backup). Important: this is not a penetration test or a full information-security audit — we look at infrastructure reliability and basic protection, while a deep vulnerability analysis is a separate service; we do not simulate attacks, brute-force passwords or run a penetration test. Access is needed: to the hosting panel or server (at least read-only), to the backup settings and, where possible, to the logs; without access only an external check is possible (availability, SSL, headers) — we will say so honestly. For cloud or hybrid infrastructures some checks require access to cloud consoles or third-party tools — their cost is not included in the audit price, and we will warn you in advance. It is a snapshot in time: the configuration and load change. We do not promise "100% uptime guaranteed" or "you will never go down again": absolute protection does not exist, the goal is to reduce risks and have a plan for a failure. What you get: a report with risks by priority (what is critical, what is desirable) and a plan (backups, DR, protection, monitoring, resources); implementing the fixes is separate work. If you have a simple site on standard hosting and the data is not critical, we will honestly say a deep audit is excessive. Picture this: instead of "we seem to have backups" you learn that copies are made but have never been tested for restoration, and the site sits on a plan with no headroom for peak load. The base price starts from 18,000 ₽; it depends on the infrastructure complexity.
Problems we solve
- You fear losing the site and data, but are not sure you have working backups.
- The site periodically goes down or slows under load.
- You do not know what happens on a server failure or whether there is a recovery plan.
- Before traffic growth or a migration you want to check reliability.
What's included in the Infrastructure audit (hosting, backups, DR) service
- Hosting and resources: type, headroom for load, bottlenecks
- Backups: presence, frequency, storage and a restore test
- Failure readiness and a disaster-recovery (DR) plan
- SSL certificates: validity and correct setup
- Basic protection: access, updates, firewall, privilege separation
- Availability monitoring, logs and failure alerts
- Headroom for scaling under traffic growth
- A prioritized report with risks and a plan
What you get
- Clear understanding of the main downtime and data-loss risks
- Verified whether the backups actually restore
- A plan: backups, DR, protection, monitoring, resources (implementation is separate)
- Understanding what is critical now and what can wait
How the work goes: steps
- We clarify the site criticality, load and collect access (hosting/server, backups, logs)
- We check the configuration, backups, DR readiness, protection and monitoring
- We prepare a prioritized report with a plan and review it with you
Why PDV Expert
- Fixed price and timeline — no surprises on the invoice.
- Report and recommendations in plain language — clear without a technical background.
- In touch at every step and answering questions about the result.
FAQ
Do you guarantee the site will never go down again?
No, an absolute uptime guarantee does not exist. The audit finds downtime and data-loss risks and gives a plan to reduce them and prepare for failures. Resilience grows after implementing the fixes and through regular checks, not from the report itself.
I already have backups — is that enough?
Not always. A backup that has never been tested for restoration may fail to deploy at the critical moment. We check not only that copies exist, but whether you can actually restore from them, how often they are made and where they are stored.
Is this the same as a security check (a pentest)?
No. We look at infrastructure reliability: hosting, backups, DR, basic protection. A deep vulnerability search and a pentest are a separate service. If you specifically need security, we will honestly point you there.
