No-code internal apps

No-code internal apps are internal applications built on no-code platforms (Bubble, Glide, Softr, Airtable, etc.): an app for tracking, requests, inventory, a client base or a process — with forms, lists, roles and even mobile access, without writing code. We build it for your task: we design the data model, screens, logic and permissions, connect it to your sources or keep the data inside the platform, and publish it for the team (web or mobile). The point is to quickly get a working app where scattered spreadsheets and chats used to live and where full development would be excessive. Unlike Workflow tools on Retool (see the respective service), which usually add an interface on top of a database you already have — handy when the backend exists — no-code apps more often make a separate app with its own data and mobile access, when you start from scratch (for example, an app for a field team or a portal for contractors). And from custom development (see the “Internal admin panels (custom builds)” service) no-code differs in speed and budget — at the price of the platform’s limits. Importantly and honestly: no-code is not “without work”, it is “without code”. Designing the data, screens, permissions and logic still has to be done sensibly, otherwise the app turns out inconvenient; it is just faster than writing from scratch. Also honestly about limits: no-code hits a ceiling on complex logic, large volumes of data, special security requirements and non-standard integrations — then it is more honest to go custom, and we will say so rather than stretching the platform over something unsuitable. And about money and dependence: the platform charges a separate subscription, and the app lives inside it — that is vendor lock-in: moving it to your own solution later will not be free; if we see you will outgrow it quickly, we will suggest custom right away. And one more honest point: if a table in Airtable or Google Sheets is actually enough for you — a separate app may be unnecessary, and we will say so. Picture this: a field team has an app on their phone with requests and statuses instead of chat messages and a spreadsheet everyone keeps differently. The base price starts from 70,000 ₽; it depends on the complexity of the app, the data and the integrations.

• How is a no-code app different from Workflow tools and a custom panel?

  Workflow tools (Retool) usually add an interface on top of a database you already have — handy when the backend exists and you need a tool to work with it. No-code apps (Bubble, Glide) are more often internal business apps your team can use independently, with their own data and mobile access, when you start from scratch. A custom panel is written in code without the platform’s limits, but costs more and takes longer. A rough guide: a spreadsheet is enough — Airtable or Google Sheets; you have a database and need a convenient interface — Retool/Workflow tools; you need a separate app with its own data and mobile access — a no-code app; complex logic and fast growth — custom. We will advise what suits your task.

• Does “no-code” mean without work and almost free?

  No. No-code is “without code”, but not “without work”: the data, screens, permissions and logic still have to be designed, and whether the app is convenient or a pain depends on that. It is simply faster and cheaper than writing from scratch. Plus the platform has its own subscription — that is a separate cost.

• What if the app outgrows the platform’s capabilities?

  That is a real scenario, and we warn about it in advance. No-code hits a ceiling on complex logic, large data and special requirements. If we see you will outgrow it quickly, we will honestly advise investing in custom right away rather than rebuilding twice. And remember the lock-in: the app lives inside the platform, and moving to your own solution later is not free. For example, if a year later the platform raises its price or you hit its limits — moving the data and logic to your own solution is almost a separate project, not a checkbox.
