Product configurator implementation

Product configurator implementation is an interactive assembler: a visitor builds a product from options (fronts, sizes, colour, components, materials), sees the price in real time and often a preview, and then orders exactly their configuration. It suits complex products with variants: kitchens and furniture, windows and doors, PCs and electronics, packaging, made-to-order clothing. We account for option dependencies (for example, choosing a material changes the available sizes) and calculate the price as you go. Unlike a calculator (see the “Calculator implementation” service), which outputs a number by a formula, a configurator assembles the product itself: on a kitchen — a calculator says “3 metres cost so much”, while a configurator lets you choose fronts, fittings and colour and shows the price of exactly that build. Sometimes you need both: a calculator for a quick price estimate, a configurator for a precise order with the build. The order arrives with the full configuration — the manager does not need to find out the details by phone. Honestly about preparation: the basis of a configurator is structured product data (all options, combinations, prices, constraints), and collecting it requires your active involvement and usually takes a noticeable part of the project; we help with the format and logic, but you compile the list of options and rules yourselves — without it a configurator cannot be built. Honestly about price and visualization: it depends on the number of options, dependencies and graphics — from 50,000 ₽ for a simple configurator (2D or a preview without complex dependencies); extended logic and a 3D build are noticeably more expensive and longer, often from 150,000–200,000 ₽. For a simple product without variants a configurator is redundant, and we will say so. • Is 3D visualization needed?

  Not necessarily. Often an option choice with a price and a simple preview image is enough — it is reliable and cheaper. A 3D build is impressive but noticeably more expensive (often from 150,000 ₽) and longer, and not needed by everyone. We will advise what actually pays off in your case and will not sell 3D for the sake of 3D.

• Who prepares the option data and how much work is it?

  You prepare the list of all options, combinations, prices and constraints — it is the basis of the configurator, and usually a noticeable part of the project, not a couple of lines. We help with the format, logic and verification, but without your list of options a configurator cannot be built. In return it then works for you for years.
