API endpoint monitoring

We continuously check your API endpoints: do they respond, with what code, how fast, the right response format, and did the contract break after a deploy. If an endpoint fails, slows down or starts returning the wrong thing, you get an alert before clients or partner integrations notice. Honestly upfront: this is checking and alerting, not fixing the API — remediation is done by your team; and we see only what is configured and accessible for the check.

API endpoint monitoring — overview

API endpoint monitoring — price, timeline & scope

API endpoint monitoring is an ongoing (monthly) service: for an agreed list of endpoints we regularly send check requests and control availability and the response code (2xx/4xx/5xx), response time and timeouts, the correctness of the format and basic contract (expected fields/structure/type), authorization, and, if needed, end-to-end scenarios of several calls. On a failure, slowdown or deviation from the expected response an alert arrives with which endpoint and what is wrong. This catches both outages and silent regressions: the response format changed after a release, authorization broke, latency rose, pagination broke — things that hit the mobile app, the frontend and partner integrations. Honestly about requirements: for protected endpoints access is needed — test keys/account, and agreement so checks do not touch production data (we use test methods/environment where possible). Honestly about the essence: this is detection and alerting, NOT fixing — we do not edit the API code, fix the backend or change the contract; remediation is done by your team or by us separately. Honestly about the method and coverage: checks run at intervals and only on the configured endpoints and scenarios — short failures between checks and uncovered methods can be missed; contract checks are compared against an agreed expectation that must be maintained as the API changes. Coverage is the configured endpoints; someone must react to an alert. An important boundary: this is outside-in API monitoring, not API development, not load testing and not APM (traces from the inside — separate, complementary). If the API is simple and stable or has almost no external consumers, continuous monitoring may be overkill. Picture this: instead of 'the mobile app stopped logging users in after a backend release and we found out from store reviews' you get an alert within a minute that the auth endpoint returns 500. The base price starts from 10,000 ₽ per month; it depends on the number of endpoints and scenario complexity.

Problems we solve

  • The API fails or changes format after a release and you learn from clients/partners.
  • The mobile app or frontend breaks due to a silent API regression.
  • You do not know about latency growth and timeouts on endpoints in advance.
  • Partner integrations break and it is unclear whose side it is.

What's included in the API endpoint monitoring service

  • Regular check requests on agreed endpoints
  • Availability and response code (2xx/4xx/5xx), response time, timeouts
  • Correctness of format and basic contract (fields/structure/type)
  • Authorization checks and, if needed, end-to-end scenarios
  • Alerts on a failure, slowdown or deviation from the expected
  • Maintaining the expected contract as the API changes
  • Monthly continuous operation
  • An alert channel of your choice (email, messenger, webhook)

What you get

  • You learn about an API failure first, not from clients/partners
  • You see which endpoint, code and what exactly is wrong
  • You catch a format/auth regression after a release earlier
  • You have facts for the team to fix it (the fix — separately)

How the work goes: steps

  • We agree on endpoints, expected responses/contract, scenarios and the alert channel; collect test access
  • We set up checks, contract control and latency thresholds
  • We launch monitoring, maintain expectations as the API changes

Why PDV Expert

FAQ

  • Will you fix the API if it broke?

No. We detect a failure/regression and notify with details, but we do not edit the API code, fix the backend or change the contract. Remediation is done by your team or by us separately; monitoring provides speed and facts.

  • Is API access needed?

For protected endpoints — yes: test keys/account and agreement so checks do not touch production data (we use test methods/environment where possible). Public endpoints we check without this.

  • Will you catch any failure?

Not guaranteed. Checks run at intervals and only on the configured endpoints — short failures between checks and uncovered methods can be missed. The contract is compared against an agreed expectation that must be updated as the API changes.
