Multivariate testing (MVT)
We run multivariate testing (MVT): we test several page elements and their combinations at once to see which combinations work better and how elements affect each other. Honestly upfront: MVT requires a LOT of traffic (there are many combinations, each needs a sample), does not guarantee growth and suits only high-traffic pages — for most sites a regular A/B is more honest.
Multivariate testing (MVT) — overview

Multivariate testing is a project: we choose elements to test (headline, image, button, block), form combinations, set up correct traffic splitting and goals, launch and analyze which combinations and individual elements have an effect and whether there is interaction between them. Honestly about the main limitation, this is key: the number of combinations grows as the product of variants (3×3×3 = 27 versions), and EACH needs a sufficient sample — so MVT requires substantially more traffic than A/B and is realistically applicable only on high-traffic pages; on medium and low traffic the test will be unreliable or endless — in that case we honestly recommend a regular A/B. Honestly about the result: like any test, MVT validates hypotheses but does NOT guarantee improvement — 'no significant difference' or a worsening is possible, and that is valid. Honestly about statistics: significance, a predefined duration, no 'peeking' are needed. Honestly about data: correct analytics and goals are mandatory (garbage in, garbage out). Honestly about the essence: this is testing combinations, NOT implementation and NOT guaranteed growth — decisions and rollout are done by you (implementation we can do separately). The MVT platform (if paid) is separate. An important boundary: this is MVT, not A/B (simpler, for less traffic — separate), not designing variants from scratch and not a conversion guarantee. If traffic is modest, MVT is contraindicated — we say so honestly. Picture this: instead of 'we changed everything at once and don't know what worked' you see the contribution of elements and their combinations — if there is enough traffic. The base price starts from 25,000 ₽ per project; the deciding factor is whether there is enough traffic.
Problems we solve
- You change several elements at once and do not know what worked.
- You do not understand how page elements affect each other.
- You want to test combinations, not one element.
- You are not sure there is enough traffic for such a test.
What's included in the Multivariate testing (MVT) service
- Choosing elements and forming combinations
- Assessing traffic sufficiency (honestly: is there enough for MVT)
- Correct traffic splitting and goal setup
- Launching and controlling test cleanliness
- Analyzing element contribution and their interactions
- An honest significance conclusion (including 'not enough data')
- A report and recommendation
- Reviewing results with you
What you get
- The contribution of elements and combinations is clear (with enough traffic)
- Decisions on data, not guesswork
- An honest assessment of MVT applicability to your traffic
- A base for rollout (implementation and growth — separately)
How the work goes: steps
- We assess traffic and elements; if low — recommend A/B
- We set up combinations, goals, splitting; launch
- We analyze significance, give an honest conclusion and recommendation
Why PDV Expert

- Report and recommendations in plain language — clear without a technical background.
- In touch at every step and answering questions about the result.
FAQ
Does MVT guarantee a conversion increase?
No. Like any test, MVT validates hypotheses and may show no difference or a worsening — a valid result. Growth depends on hypotheses, audience and offer; we do not promise '+X%'.
Is MVT or A/B right for me?
MVT requires a lot of traffic (many combinations, each needs a sample) and is justified on high-traffic pages. If traffic is modest, a regular A/B is more honest and reliable; we assess and recommend without pushing.
Why might MVT 'not work out'?
If there is not enough traffic for all combinations, the test will be unreliable or endlessly long. This is not our shortcoming but the math of power — so we honestly assess applicability in advance.
