Order bumps

We add order bumps: a small relevant add-on offer right at the checkout step — 'add to your order for N?' — easy to accept in one click. To increase the average order value among those already buying. Honestly and on principle upfront: add-ons are offered HONESTLY — the checkbox is NOT pre-ticked, nothing is forced; auto-adding to the cart without consent is a dark pattern, illegal and trust-destroying.

Price

Order bumps — overview

Order bumps — price, timeline & scope

Order bumps is an implementation project: we add a relevant low-price add-on at the checkout step (a related product, extended warranty, expedited shipping) with a clear description and price, which the buyer adds by a CONSCIOUS action. Honestly, and this is an unshakable rule: an order bump must be HONEST — the checkbox/option is OFF by default, the add-on is added only by the buyer's explicit consent; we do NOT make pre-ticked checkboxes, hidden auto-additions and 'accidentally in the cart' items — that is a dark pattern, it is illegal (consumer protection requires explicit consent for an extra charge) and destroys trust, and returns and complaints eat the benefit. Honestly about relevance: the add-on must be genuinely useful to the order — irrelevant forced add-ons annoy. Honestly about the result: order bumps can raise the average order value, but we do NOT guarantee growth and do not promise '+X% to the check' — it depends on relevance, price, audience; the effect and unobtrusiveness should be checked with a test. Honestly about the essence: this is an honest add-on mechanic, NOT forcing and NOT a guarantee. An important boundary: these are order bumps at checkout, not post-purchase upsells (653 — after purchase), not cross-sells at checkout (654 — related products) and not one-click upsells (655). If there are no relevant add-ons, the mechanic is not needed. Picture this: instead of a missed opportunity the buyer sees a relevant add-on and decides to add it themselves — without checkboxes ticked for them. The base price starts from 12,000 ₽ per project; it depends on the number of add-ons and the platform.

FAQ

  • Can you add the add-on to the cart automatically, with a pre-ticked box?

No, absolutely not. Pre-ticked checkboxes and auto-adding without explicit consent is a dark pattern, it is illegal (explicit consent for an extra charge is required) and destroys trust, plus returns and complaints grow. The add-on is added only by the buyer's conscious action.

  • Do order bumps guarantee a higher average check?

No. A relevant add-on can raise the check, but growth depends on relevance, price and audience; intrusiveness harms. The effect and unobtrusiveness should be checked with a test; we do not promise '+X% to the check'.

  • How is it different from upsell and cross-sell?

An order bump is a small add-on right at checkout (a checkbox). A post-purchase upsell (653) is an offer AFTER purchase. A cross-sell (654) is related products. These are different mechanics; we advise what is more appropriate.
