Synthetic monitoring setup
We set up synthetic monitoring: scheduled robots from controlled locations run your site's key scenarios — opening pages, logging in, search, add-to-cart, checkout — and immediately signal if something broke or slowed down, even when there are few real users at that moment. Honestly upfront: this is a check by predefined scenarios and alerting, not real users and not fixing — your team fixes the breakage.
Synthetic monitoring setup — overview

Synthetic monitoring setup is a service with an initial setup and monthly operation: we write and run on a schedule scripts that simulate user actions on critical paths — availability and speed of key pages, login, search, cart and checkout, form and API work — from controlled locations. On a failure, a step error or a slowdown an alert arrives with which step failed and where. It is valuable because it catches breakage even when live traffic is low (at night, on rare pages) and checks the end-to-end scenario, not just 'did the homepage open'. Honestly about the nature of the method: this is a simulation by predefined scenarios in controlled conditions, NOT real users — synthetics will not show problems that occur only for specific people on their devices (RUM is for that), and it sees only the steps we scripted; anything outside the scenario stays outside the check. Honestly about maintenance: scenarios are tied to the site structure and break on interface changes (a button moved, a selector changed) — so they need maintenance; that is part of the monthly operation, otherwise there will be false alarms. Honestly about the essence and cost: this is detection and alerting, NOT fixing — the breakage is remediated by your team or by us separately; the checks run through a third-party synthetic platform with its frequency limits and cost, the platform expense is usually separate. Coverage is only the scripted scenarios; someone must react to an alert. An important boundary: this is synthetic monitoring (scenarios in controlled conditions), not RUM (real users — separate), not load testing and not development. If the site is simple and has no critical end-to-end scenarios, synthetics may be overkill — uptime monitoring is enough. Picture this: instead of 'payment broke at night and we found out in the morning from zero orders' you get an alert within a minute that the payment step in the scenario failed. The base price starts from 18,000 ₽ per month (includes scenario setup and monthly operation; the third-party platform cost is separate).
Problems we solve
- Critical scenarios (payment, login, search) break and you find out from zero orders.
- Real traffic is low, and breakage on rare pages goes unnoticed for a long time.
- The uptime check says 'the site opens' but the end-to-end path is still broken.
- You want to check the scenario, not just the homepage availability.
What's included in the Synthetic monitoring setup service
- Writing and running scheduled scenarios of key paths
- Availability and speed of key pages, login, search, cart, checkout, forms, API
- Checks from controlled locations
- Alerts on a step failure, error or slowdown (which step and where)
- Scenario maintenance on interface changes (part of operation)
- Monthly operation of the monitoring
- A separation: what is covered by scenarios and what is not
- An alert channel of your choice (email, messenger, webhook)
What you get
- You learn about an end-to-end scenario breakage immediately, even without traffic
- You see which step failed and where
- You catch payment/login/search failures earlier
- You have facts for the team to remediate the breakage (the fix — separately)
How the work goes: steps
- We agree on critical scenarios, locations, frequency and the alert channel; collect access (incl. test accounts)
- We write scenarios, set up the schedule, thresholds and alerts
- We launch operation, maintain scenarios on site changes
Why PDV Expert
- Fixed price and timeline — no surprises on the invoice.
- Report and recommendations in plain language — clear without a technical background.
- In touch at every step and answering questions about the result.
FAQ
Is this the same as real-user monitoring (RUM)?
No. Synthetics simulate predefined scenarios in controlled conditions — stable and without traffic, but these are not real users. Problems that occur only for specific people on their devices are caught by RUM. They are convenient to combine, but they are different services.
Will you fix the breakage you find?
No. We detect a step failure and send an alert; remediation is done by your team or by us separately. Also, scenarios need maintenance on interface changes — that is part of the monthly operation, otherwise false alarms will appear.
Will there be platform costs?
Yes, the checks run through a third-party synthetic platform with its limits and pricing — its cost is usually separate and depends on the number of scenarios and frequency; we warn in advance.
